European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Rise Modestly Higher in Thursday Trading

11:29 AM EDT, 05/02/2024 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were trending modestly higher Thursday morning, rising 0.25% to 1,364.91 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by internet advertising firm Criteo ( CRTO ) and financial services company ING (ING), which advanced 7.7% and 6.1% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Cellectis ( CLLS ) and Calliditas Therapeutics ( CALT ) , which climbed 8.4% and 1.4% respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by biopharmaceutical company Grifols ( GRFS ) and pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) , which fell 5.2% and 3.3% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical company Sanofi ( SNY ) and biotech firm Evaxion Biotech ( EVAX ) , which were down 1.8% and 1.3% respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biotech firm Trinity Biotech ( TRIB ) and biopharmaceutical company Bicycle Therapeutics ( BCYC ) , which rose 6.3% and 3.4% respectively. They were followed by insurance giant Prudential (PUK), which increased 2.5%.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical companies Akari Therapeutics ( AKTX ) and Biodexa Pharmaceuticals ( BDRX ) , which lost 8.5% and 3.8% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) and software firm Endava ( DAVA ) , which dropped 1.2% and 1.6% respectively.
