Asian Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Rise in Tuesday Trading

10:50 AM EST, 01/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were higher on Tuesday morning, up 0.9% to 2,109.96 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.

From North Asia, the gainers were led by internet and data center services provider VNET ( VNET ) and AI and Internet-of-Things platform Tuya ( TUYA ) , which advanced by 12% and 8%, respectively.

They were followed by electric vehicle manufacturer Xpeng ( XPEV ) , which added nearly 5%.

The decliners from North Asia were led by educational services provider New Oriental (EDU) and holographic cloud services company WiMi (WIMI), which fell 23% and 10%, respctively.

They were followed by after-school education and tutoring company TAL Education ( TAL ) , which retreated nearly 6%.

From South Asia, the gainers were led by tech conglomerate Sea (SE) and information and communications tech company Sify ( SIFY ) , which rose 1.6% and 1% respectively.

The decliners from South Asia were led by bank and financial services company ICICI (IBN), which fell 2%, followed by telecom Telkom Indonesia (TLK), which was down 1.9%.
