Asian Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Tumble in Thursday Trading

10:34 AM EDT, 03/12/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were significantly lower Thursday morning, falling 2.48% to 2,672.22 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.

From North Asia, the gainers were led by semiconductor company Himax Technologies ( HIMX ) and electric vehicle maker NIO (NIO), which climbed 25.6% and 5.9% respectively. They were followed by tech company Xunlei ( XNET ) and real estate management and investment firm Eason Technology ( DXF ) , which rose 5.6% and 1.7% respectively

The decliners from North Asia were led by automotive company Honda Motor ( HMC ) and Bitcoin mining company Cango ( CANG ) , which fell 6.2% and 5.9% respectively. They were followed by internet and data center services provider VNET Group ( VNET ) and lender Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group ( SMFG ) , which were down 5.6% and 4.8% respectively.

There were no gainers from South Asia.

The decliners from South Asia were led by IT company Sify Technologies ( SIFY ) and IT firms Wipro ( WIT ) , which dropped 3.3% and 3.2% respectively. They were followed by IT firm Infosys ( INFY ) and lender ICICI Bank ( IBN ) , which were off 1.4% and 0.9% respectively.
