Dec 3 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened

higher on Tuesday, boosted by mining and energy stocks, while

Bank of Nova Scotia ( BNS ) fell after missing analysts'

estimates for fourth-quarter profit.

At 9:31 a.m. ET (1431 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange's

S&P/TSX composite index was up 79.46 points, or 0.31%,

at 25,669.79.
