European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Edge Lower in Thursday Trading

11:15 AM EST, 12/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were slightly lower late Thursday morning, declining 0.20% to 1,346.91 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies ( DBVT ) and internet browser company Opera (OPRA), which rose 5.6% and 9.5% respectively. They were followed by 3D printer company Materialise (MTLS) and telecommunications company Nokia ( NOK ) , which were up 3% and 0.9%, respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by biotech firm Evaxion Biotech ( EVAX ) and financial services company ING (ING), which dropped 11.5% and 3.2% respectively. They were followed by petroleum refiner Equinor ( EQNR ) and biopharmaceutical company Cellectis ( CLLS ) , which lost 2.4% and 2.9% respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Akari Therapeutics ( AKTX ) and alcoholic beverage company Diageo ( DEO ) , which increased 4.1% and 2.4% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Biodexa Pharmaceuticals ( BDRX ) and construction materials supplier CRH (CRH), which advanced 1.8% and 1% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biotech firms Autolus Therapeutics ( AUTL ) and Trinity Biotech ( TRIB ) , which fell 2.9% and 2.2% respectively. They were followed by mining company BHP Group ( BHP ) and insurance company Prudential (PUK), which were down about 2% each.
