European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Decline in Wednesday Trading

10:59 AM EDT, 07/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were tracking higher late Wednesday morning, rising 0.43% to 1,490.39 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Cellectis ( CLLS ) and pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) , which climbed 16% and 3.8%, respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies ( DBVT ) and pharmaceutical company Sanofi (SNY), which were up 3.6% and 2% respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by software firm SAP (SAP) and semiconductor company Sequans Communications ( SQNS ) , which fell 5.6% and 3.6%, respectively. They were followed by petroleum refiner Equinor ( EQNR ) and biotech firm Evaxion ( EVAX ) , which were off 0.7% and 0.4%, respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies Bicycle Therapeutics ( BCYC ) and Mereo BioPharma Group ( MREO ) , which rose 5.7% and 5.1%, respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) and software company Endava ( DAVA ) , which increased 3.9% and 3.2%, respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by utilities company National Grid ( NGG ) and biotech firm Trinity Biotech ( TRIB ) , which dropped 1.6% and 1.5%, respectively. They were followed by hospitality company InterContinental Hotels Group ( IHG ) and biopharmaceutical company NuCana ( NCNA ) , which lost 0.9% and 0.6%, respectively.
