European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Higher in Friday Trading

11:15 AM EDT, 10/04/2024 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were higher late Friday morning, rising 0.23% to 1,417.34 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index. For the week, the index is down about 1.5%.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by furniture maker Natuzzi (NTZ) and biotech firm BioNTech (BNTX), which rose 2.8% and 2.1% respectively. They were followed by internet advertising firm Criteo ( CRTO ) and biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies ( DBVT ) , which increased 1.9% and 1.7% respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by medical device maker EDAP TMS ( EDAP ). (EDAP) and biotech firm Evaxion Biotech ( EVAX ) , which fell 4.7% 2.3% respectively. They were followed by and biopharmaceutical companies argenx (ARGX) and Genfit ( GNFT ) , which dropped 1.9% and 1.7% respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies TC Biopharm ( TCBP ) and Verona Pharma ( VRNA ) , which advanced 8% and 5.2% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) and financial services company Barclays ( JJCTF ) , which were up 4.5% and 3.3% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company Biodexa Pharmaceuticals ( BDRX ) and utilities company National Grid (NGG), which lost 12% and 1.2% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca ( AZN ) and construction materials supplier CRH (CRH), which were off 0.7% and 0.6% respectively.
