European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Higher in Thursday Trading

11:08 AM EDT, 06/27/2024 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were higher late Thursday morning, rising 0.27% to 1,423.98 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Genfit ( GNFT ) and telecommunications company Ericsson (ERIC), which rose 2.6% and 1.9% respectively. They were followed by petroleum refiner Equinor ( EQNR ) and telecommunications company Nokia ( NOK ) , which were up 1.8% and 1.6% respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by biopharmaceutical companies Grifols ( GRFS ) and Cellectis ( CLLS ) , which fell 12% and 2.7% respectively. They were followed by biotech firm Evaxion Biotech ( EVAX ) and semiconductor company Sequans Communications ( SQNS ) , which were down 1.4% and 1.3% respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) and Akari Therapeutics ( AKTX ) , which climbed 8.3% and 4.8% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical company Silence Therapeutics ( SLN ) and biopharmaceutical company Biodexa Pharmaceuticals ( BDRX ) , which rose 4% and 3.8% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by insurance firm Prudential (PUK) and biopharmaceutical company TC Biopharm ( TCBP ) , which lost 1.9% and 1.8% respectively. They were followed by alcoholic beverage company Diageo ( DEO ) , which fell 1%.
