From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies Genfit ( GNFT ) and DBV Technologies ( DBVT ) , which advanced 7.8% and 5.2%, respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Grifols ( GRFS ) and brewing company Anheuser-Busch InBev ( BUD ) , which increased 2.7% and 1%, respectively.
The decliners from continental Europe were led by semiconductor company Sequans Communications ( SQNS ) and biopharmaceutical company Cellectis ( CLLS ) , which fell 4.7% and 2.7%, respectively. They were followed by medical device maker EDAP TMS ( EDAP ) and telecommunications company Nokia ( NOK ) , which lost 2.3% and 1.2%, respectively.
From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by mining company BHP Group ( BHP ) and telecommunications operator Vodafone Group ( VOD ) , which rose 2.8% and 2.2%, respectively. They were followed by oil and gas company Shell (SHEL) and insurance company Prudential (PUK), which were up 1.8% and 1.6%, respectively.
The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) and biotech firm Trinity Biotech ( TRIB ) , which dropped 6.2% and 6%, respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Biodexa Pharmaceuticals ( BDRX ) and NuCana ( NCNA ) , which were down 3.9% and 3.6%, respectively.
