From continental Europe, the gainers were led by telecommunications company Nokia ( NOK ) and biotech firm Evaxion ( EVAX ) , which rose 4.6% and 4.4% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Grifols ( GRFS ) and argenx (ARGX), which were up 3.2% and 2.7% respectively.
The decliners from continental Europe were led by medical device maker EDAP TMS ( EDAP ) and pharmaceutical company Sanofi ( SNY ) , which fell 12% and 7.8% respectively. They were followed by semiconductor company Sequans Communications ( SQNS ) and pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) , which dropped 6.6% and 1.3% respectively.
From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Akari Therapeutics ( AKTX ) and pharmaceutical company Silence Therapeutics ( SLN ) , which advanced 6.1% and 4.4% respectively. They were followed by financial services companies Lloyds Banking Group ( LYG ) and Barclays ( BCS ) , which increased 1.6% each.
The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by software firm Endava ( DAVA ) and biotech company Trinity Biotech ( TRIB ) , which shed 30% and 9.1% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) and Bicycle Therapeutics ( BCYC ) , which lost 6.5% and 3.7% respectively.
