European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Rise in Tuesday Trading

10:57 AM EST, 12/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were moving higher late Tuesday morning, rising 0.40% to 1,337.94 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by medical device maker EDAP TMS ( EDAP ) and biotech company Evaxion Biotech ( EVAX ) , which climbed 6.9% and 6.1% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical company Sanofi ( SNY ) and biotech firm BioNTech (BNTX), which rose 4.6% and 3% respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by accommodations booking company trivago (TRVG) and biopharmaceutical company Genfit ( GNFT ) , which fell 4.6% each. They were followed by financial services company Banco Santander (SAN) and biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies ( DBVT ) , which dropped 3.9% and 2.5% respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Amarin ( AMRN ) and pharmaceutical company GSK (GSK), which increased 4.8% and 2.3% respectively. They were followed by utilities company National Grid ( NGG ) and software firm Endava ( DAVA ) , which were up 1.9% and 1.3% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company TC Biopharm ( TCBP ) and pharmaceutical company Silence Therapeutics ( SLN ) , which lost 9.1% and 3.7% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Verona Pharma ( VRNA ) and Mereo BioPharma Group ( MREO ) , which fell 2% and 1.7% respectively.
