European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Rise in Tuesday Trading

11:12 AM EDT, 04/29/2025 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were tracking higher late Tuesday morning, rising 0.57% to 1,402.56 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Genfit ( GNFT ) and pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) , which advanced 12% and 3.2% respectively. They were followed by software firm SAP (SAP) and biopharmaceutical company Cellectis ( CLLS ) , which were up 1.9% and 1.3% respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies ( DBVT ) and medical device maker EDAP TMS ( EDAP ) , which dropped 3.3% and 3.2% respectively. They were followed by semiconductor company Sequans Communications ( SQNS ) and financial services company Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria ( BBVA ) , which lost 2.3% and 2.24% respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biotech firm Trinity Biotech ( TRIB ) and Verona Pharma ( VRNA ) , which rose 4.5% and 3.5% respectively. They were followed by financial services company HSBC ( HSBC ) and pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca ( AZN ) , which were up 2.5% and 1.4% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biotech firm Autolus Therapeutics ( AUTL ) and Biodexa Pharmaceuticals ( BDRX ) , which fell 4.3% and 3.3% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Mereo BioPharma Group ( MREO ) and Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) , which were down 2.3% each.
