From continental Europe, the gainers were led by pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) and petroleum refiner Equinor ( EQNR ) , which increased 2.2% each. They were followed by financial services companies Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria ( BBVA ) and Banco Santander (SAN), which were up 1.5% and 1.1% respectively.
The decliners from continental Europe were led by biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies ( DBVT ) and medical device maker EDAP TMS ( EDAP ) , which fell 14% and 2.7% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Cellectis ( CLLS ) and accommodations booking company trivago (TRVG), which dropped 2.6% and 0.9% respectively.
From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by telecommunications operator Vodafone Group ( VOD ) biopharmaceutical company Verona Pharma ( VRNA ) , which rose 6.1% and 3.7% respectively. They were followed by biotech firm Trinity Biotech ( TRIB ) and biopharmaceutical company Akari Therapeutics ( AKTX ) , which advanced 3.5% and 2.7% respectively.
The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company NuCana ( NCNA ) and software firm Endava ( DAVA ) , which were down 3.9% and 2.6% respectively. They were followed by cruise line operator Carnival (CUK) and biopharmaceutical company Bicycle Therapeutics ( BCYC ) , which lost 1.8% and 1.6% respectively.
