MUMBAI, March 19 (Reuters) -
STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex fell 612.47 points, or 0.84%,
to 72,135.95, while the broader NSE index lost 210.05
points, or 0.95%, to 21,845.65, ahead of the U.S. Federal
Reserve's rate decision due on Wednesday, which could determine
the extent of foreign fund inflows into the market.
RUPEE:
The Indian rupee weakened 0.08% versus the U.S. dollar,
and quoted at 82.98, pressured by weakness in other Asian
currencies and elevated oil prices.
GOVERNMENT BONDS:
The benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 100.59
rupees, with the yield unchanged at 7.0911%, as traders await
state debt auction results.
OVERNIGHT INDEX SWAPS:
The one-year overnight index swap rate was up 1
bps at 6.73%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate
rose 2 bps to 6.34%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was up 5 bps at
6.55%. The overnight TREPS rate was at 6.25%,
compared with the previous day's weighted average of 6.5258%.
