MUMBAI, March 20 (Reuters) -
STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 89.64 points, or 0.12%,
to 72,101.69, while the broader NSE index gained 21.65
points, or 0.10%, to 21,839.1 ahead of much anticipated U.S.
Federal Reserve's interest rate decision and commentary.
RUPEE:
The Indian rupee weakened 0.15% versus the U.S. dollar,
and quoted at 83.17 per dollar, pressured by dollar demand from
importers, including local oil companies.
GOVERNMENT BONDS:
The benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 100.59
rupees, with the yield down 1 bps at 7.0918% ahead of the U.S.
Federal Reserve's monetary policy decision.
OVERNIGHT INDEX SWAPS:
The one-year overnight index swap rate was up 3
bps at 6.76%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate
fell 1 bps to 6.34%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was down 5 bps at
6.45%. The overnight TREPS rate was at 6.76%,
compared with the previous day's weighted average of 6.3377%.
