(Corrects paragraph 1 to say FTSE 100 seen opening lower, not
higher, as futures are down 0.4%, not up 0.4%)
Aug 10 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 index is seen
opening lower on Monday, with futures down 0.4%.
* EMPLOYMENT: Britain's labour market showed tentative signs of
stabilisation in July, when Andy Burnham became prime minister,
as recruiters stopped shedding permanent staff, according to a
survey.
* AUTO: The British government announced nearly £130 million
in funding for zero-emission vehicle technologies, with almost
£65 million in public money and the rest provided by the
industry.
* OIL: Oil prices rose as uncertainty persisted over the
reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, with Iran saying the United
States must meet several conditions even as Tehran and Oman
moved into the final stages of agreeing on new shipping lanes.
* GOLD: Gold slipped as investors took profits after prices
hit a seven-week high in the previous session, while markets
looked to U.S. inflation data for fresh clues on the Federal
Reserve's interest rate path.
* METALS: Copper consolidated above $14,000 after posting
its strongest weekly gain since May, as concerns that the
Democratic Republic of Congo's copper concentrate export ban
could hit supply eased and some physical indicators in top
consumer China softened.
* FTSE: The main UK indices ended with a fourth consecutive
week of gains on Friday, as a rally in precious metal miners
helped offset concerns over when the U.S. and Iran would reach a
lasting peace deal.
