07:46 AM EDT, 06/06/2024 (MT Newswires) -- The Federal Aviation Administration is further extending cuts to minimum flight requirements at congested New York City-area airports through October 2025, Reuters reported Thursday, citing the regulator.
The number of air traffic controllers is insufficient in New York for normal traffic levels, and increasing flexibility is needed to avoid congestion, delays and cancellations at JFK, LaGuardia and Newark airports, the FAA said, according to the report.
The aviation regulator did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
