Crypto Stocks Surge Following As Bitcoin Price Jumps Following Trump Assassination Attempt

07:59 AM EDT, 07/15/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Crypto stocks rose in pre-market trading on Monday amid the jump in the price of Bitcoin (BTC) as the assassination attempt against Donald Trump is perceived to have increased his chances of winning November's presidential election.

Trump is generally regarded as pro-bitcoin. His campaign recently started accepting donations in cryptocurrencies.

Coinbase (COIN) shares are up 4.76% in pre-market trading on Monday, while Riot Games (RIOT) and Marathon Digital ( MARA ) gained 5.46% and 5.3%, respectively.

The price of BTC rose around 4% in the past 24 hours and was trading at $62,484 at the time of writing, according to CoinMarketCap.
