01:24 PM EDT, 07/08/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Corning (GLW) shares rose more than 13% in recent Monday trading after the company boosted guidance for Q2 core sales to $3.6 billion from $3.4 billion.

More than 22 million of Corning's shares traded intraday against the stock's daily average of about 6.1 million.

Morphic Holding ( MORF ) shares soared 75% after the announcement Monday that it would be acquired by Eli Lilly (LLY) for about $3.2 billion in cash.

More than 42 million of Morphic's ( MORF ) shares traded intraday compared with the stock's daily average of 519,422.

Pulse Biosciences ( PLSE ) said Monday that the US Food and Drug Administration granted Breakthrough Device Designation to its nsPFA cardiac surgery system for the ablation of cardiac tissue to treat atrial fibrillation.

The company's shares were 32% higher, with intraday trading volume at about 1.4 million against a daily average of 225,044.
