Oct 29(Reuters) - Adidas's North America
sales recorded the weakest growth among the German sportswear
maker's regions in the third quarter, the company reported on
Wednesday.
Revenues for its Adidas brand in North America rose 8%
on the year, excluding the impact of currency movements, lagging
other markets, which grew between 10% and 21% in the quarter.
Adidas's brand growth metric strips out sales of its
discontinued Yeezy sneaker line, which was especially popular in
the U.S. Its third-quarter North America revenues are down 5%
compared to last year including Yeezy.
Adidas released preliminary results and hiked its annual
profit outlook last week, saying it successfully offset part of
the extra costs caused by higher U.S. tariffs.
Its top-selling Samba sneakers, previously priced at $90 and
up, now start at $100 on its U.S. site.
