03:51 PM EDT, 06/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Advanced Micro Devices ( AMD ) said Thursday CEO Lisa Su showcased the Instinct MI350 and MI400 series graphics processing units at the chipmaker's Advancing AI event.
The MI350 series, comprising MI350X and MI355X artificial intelligence chips and platforms for high-performance computing, are said to be 35 times faster than their predecessors in inferencing, a process that a machine learning model uses to draw conclusions from brand-new data, according to the company.
The MI350 AI chip series also surpassed the company's five-year target of improving the energy efficiency of AI training, the company said.
AMD also previewed a next-generation AI rack called Helios, which will be built on the MI400 Series GPUs, and is expected to deliver 10 times more performance running inference relative to the previous generation, it said.
Shares were down 2.2% in recent trading.
