American Airlines Group's Latest Wage Hike Proposal Gets Rejected by Union
Jun 6, 2024 5:03 AM

07:38 AM EDT, 06/06/2024 (MT Newswires) -- American Airlines Group's ( AAL ) latest proposal offering an immediate 17% wage increase to its flights attendants was unanimously rejected by the Association of Professional Flight Attendants, multiple media outlets reported late Wednesday.

The union said the latest offer comes without reaching an agreement on a complete contract, the reports said.

The union asked its workers to prepare for a strike after the discussions could not lead to an agreement last month, the reports said. The parties are expected to resume negotiations next week.

American Airlines' ( AAL ) flight attendants claim they have not had a pay raise in more than five years and demand an immediate increase of about 33%, according to these reports.

The company and the union did not immediately respond to MT Newswire's request for comment on the matter.
