08:24 AM EST, 01/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Atai Life Sciences ( ATAI ) said Friday that it has appointed co-chief executive officer and co-founder Dr. Srinivas Rao as sole CEO, effective Jan. 1.

Atai Life said in May that co-CEO and co-founder Florian Brand would step down as CEO by the end of 2024.

Also on Friday, Atai Life said it has appointed Gerd Kochendoerfer as chief operating officer. Kochendoerfer previously was the chief operating officer at NFlection Therapeutics.

Shares of Atai Life Sciences ( ATAI ) were up more than 1% in recent premarket activity.
