Aviation Supply Chain Issues Continue as Repair Times on Planes Remain Challenge, Delta CEO Says
May 31, 2024 8:16 AM

10:54 AM EDT, 05/31/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Supply chain challenges remain an issue for the aviation industry as material costs are also rising, Delta Air Lines ( DAL ) Chief Executive Ed Bastian said Friday.

"The supply chain is still not where it needs to be," Bastian said an interview with Bloomberg Television.

Engine repair times also remain a challenge for the industry as work on planes "extend up to months rather than weeks which they should be," Bastian said. "What is causing us to do is maintain the existing fleet."

Bastian said Delta has no Boeing ( BA ) orders it is expecting delivery in the "next several years."
