Boeing CEO Says Elon Musk Helping Resolve Bottlenecks for New Air Force One Fleet
Feb 20, 2025 9:10 AM

11:38 AM EST, 02/20/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) Chief Executive Officer Kelly Ortberg said Elon Musk is helping the company resolve production bottlenecks for the new Air Force One fleet, according to a FactSet transcript Thursday.

"The president's clearly not happy with the delivery timing. I think he's made that well known. And Elon Musk is actually helping us a lot in working through the requirements," Ortberg said at a Barclays conference, according to the transcript.

The first of the jets was originally scheduled for delivery in 2024, Bloomberg reported.

Musk visited in December the San Antonio, Texas, facility, where the jets are undergoing modifications to install missile defense systems, specialized communication gear, and upgraded interiors, according to Bloomberg.

Elon Musk and the US Department of Government Efficiency did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
