Boeing Reportedly Working to Fix Problem with Electric Component on 737 Jet

03:55 PM EDT, 08/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Production was slowed at Boeing ( BA ) 737 factory in Renton, Washington, last week after a problem was identified with junction boxes used to route electric cables through aircraft, according to multiple media reports Tuesday.

In a statement provided to Fortune magazine and a Seattle-area television station, Boeing ( BA ) also confirmed that three of its passenger jets previously delivered to customer were briefly grounded after a "non-conforming component" was identified on the planes. The company said production was continuing, while "any necessary rework" will be performed to its production system as required.

Boeing ( BA ) did not immediately reply to a message from MT Newswires. Its shares were nearly 3% higher shortly before Tuesday's closing bell.
