09:00 AM EDT, 03/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- BP (BP) Chief Executive Murray Auchincloss said at the CERAWeek energy conference in Houston Tuesday that the company will increase its US natural gas onshore production, according to media reports.
Auchincloss said BP will tap into its onshore oil and gas production in the Haynesville Basin, which straddles the border between Texas and Louisiana.
The announcement by the oil and gas giant comes amid rising domestic gas prices.
BP said in February that it is scrapping its renewable generation capacity growth target to focus on fossil fuels, adding it plans to increase annual spending on oil and gas to $10 billion, according to media reports.
