12:43 PM EDT, 06/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Buenaventura Mining (BVN) said Monday it has resumed ore treatment operations at El Brocal processing plant

El Brocal has accumulated about 222,000 tons of copper ore, and processing will gradually ramp to 15,000 tons per day, according to the company.

The resumption came after Huaraucaca community leaders signed an agreement with the company to end the prior blockade and related suspension of ore treatment at its processing facilities, the firm said.

The company said it expects to meet its full-year 2024 production goals.
