Build-A-Bear Workshop CEO Sharon Price John to Retire; Successor Named; Shares Rise Pre-Bell

07:17 AM EDT, 03/12/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Build-A-Bear Workshop ( BBW ) said Thursday that Sharon Price John is planning to retire as president and chief executive, effective June 11.

The board has appointed Chris Hurt, who is chief operations and experience officer, as the new CEO.

Hurt will join the company's board upon assuming the role, while Price John will remain on the board during the transition period.

Shares of the company added more than 12% in recent Thursday premarket activity.
