Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected a loss of $0.02.
Revenue for the quarter ended May 31 was $5.78 billion, up from $4.91 billion a year earlier.
Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $5.69 billion.
For fiscal Q3, the company said it expects adjusted earnings of about $1.15 per diluted share. Analysts polled by Capital IQ expect $1.11.
The company said it now expects fiscal 2024 adjusted earnings of $1.18 per diluted share, up from its prior guidance of $0.98. Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expect $1.01.
Shares of Carnival were up 6.7% in recent early Tuesday trading.
