09:38 AM EDT, 03/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Chorus Aviation (CHR.TO) on Monday confirmed it has been advised of an accident involving flight AC8646 operated by a CRJ900 aircraft by its subsidiary, Jazz Aviation LP, operating as Air Canada Express.
A statement noted the accident occurred at LaGuardia (LGA) at approximately at approximately 11:47PM local time on March 22, 2026. The flight was en route to LGA from Montreal and collided with a fire truck on the runway upon landing at New York LaGuardia.
CHR said officials with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey confirmed the pilot and the first officer were killed in this accident.
"The entire Chorus family is mourning the loss of our Jazz colleagues," said Colin Copp, President and Chief Executive Officer, Chorus.
CHR said Jazz is fully cooperating with the investigating authorities involved in the investigation. It added Jazz is continuing to operate its regularly scheduled flights in the ordinary course.

Earlier Monday, Air Canada ( ACDVF ) said a Jazz Aviation Mitsubishi CRJ-900 was involved in an accident upon landing at New York LaGuardia on March 22, 2026.
Its statement noted Flight AC8646, operated by Air Canada Express carrier Jazz Aviation LP (Jazz), originated from Montreal. It said the preliminary passenger list indicates the airplane was carrying approximately 72 passengers and four crew members, although this is subject to confirmation. The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 pm.
Air Canada ( ACDVF ) said the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey confirmed that the pilot and the first officer were killed in this accident. "We are deeply saddened by the loss of two Jazz employees, and our deepest condolences go out to the entire Jazz community and their families."
Air Canada ( ACDVF ) added it cannot confirm the exact number of injuries or if there are other fatalities at this time. "Emergency services are on site taking care of injured passengers, and some have been transported to local hospitals."
