06:35 AM EDT, 05/03/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Enersys ( ENS ) said late Thursday it has agreed to acquire New York-based portable power systems manufacturer Bren-Tronics for $208 million in cash.

Bren-Tronics employs approximately 280 workers across the US, France, and the UK and had about $100 million in sales in 2023. The business will be integrated into EnerSys' ( ENS ) Specialty line of business, the company said.

The company plans to fund the deal using its available cash and expects the acquisition to be immediately accretive to its earnings per share.

Closing of the deal is expected to occur in Q2, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.
