09:03 AM EDT, 06/26/2025 (MT Newswires) -- General Mills ( GIS ) fiscal 2026 earnings per share outlook "embeds enough cushion" for it to deliver, despite the current slow environment although investor sentiment is "poor" regarding packaged food, RBC said in a Thursday note.
The company also highlighted its entry into the fresh pet food segment, with plans to launch Blue Buffalo Love Made Fresh in H2 across the US, analysts led by Nik Modi wrote.
General Mills ( GIS ) is "confident" it will do well in the fresh pet food segment because of its "extensive" experience with cold supply chain from its dough operations, the analysts added.
Additionally, the consumer food company's management mentioned that it will continue to infuse capital in value in fiscal 2026, addressing price gaps and cliffs on select products in different categories, the analysts said, adding that the management anticipates "significant variability" in fiscal 2026 quarterly figures.
RBC upgraded General Mills ( GIS ) to outperform from sector perform and lowered its price target to $63 from $67.
