IAMGOLD Regains 70% Stake in Cote Gold Mine in Ontario

08:34 AM EST, 12/02/2024 (MT Newswires) -- IAMGOLD ( IAG ) said Monday it exercised a right to repurchase a 9.7% interest in the Cote Gold Mine that it transferred to Sumitomo Metal Mining in late 2022, restoring its full 70% interest in the gold mine located in Ontario.

The company said it paid around $377 million for the repurchase, including $23.7 million for the repurchase option fee.
