Intel Amends Funding Agreement With US Department of Commerce

07:08 AM EDT, 09/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Intel ( INTC ) said late Friday that it has amended its Direct Funding Agreement with the US Department of Commerce to remove several project milestones, and received the full $5.70 billion in accelerated disbursements.

The company said the amendment removed prior project milestone requirements, workforce policy mandates, and most other restrictions from the original agreement with the exception of using funds received under the CHIPS Act.

As a part of the amendment, Intel ( INTC ) said it has issued the DOC with 274.6 million shares and provided it with warrants to buy an additional 240.5 million shares under certain conditions.

The company said it has spent at least $7.87 billion on projects under the original Direct Funding Agreement so far.

Shares of Intel ( INTC ) were down 1.7% in recent Tuesday premarket activity. US stock markets were closed on Monday for the Labor Day holiday.
