05:28 PM EDT, 03/11/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Joby Aviation ( JOBY ) said late Wednesday it has started flight testing of its Federal Aviation Administration-conforming aircraft for Type Inspection Authorization.

The firm said it is a major step on the path to type certification.

Joby said initial testing by its pilots will pave the way for FAA pilots to visit its facility later this year to conduct the TIA testing required to validate the aircraft for commercial service.
