Lockheed Martin Says it is Working to 'Accelerate Delivery Timelines' of Weapons to Taiwan
Nov 4, 2025 8:25 AM

11:14 AM EST, 11/04/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Lockheed Martin ( LMT ) said Tuesday it is working "to accelerate delivery timelines" of weapons to Taiwan, a day after Taiwan's Defense Ministry said deliveries of US-made weapons from RTX (RTX) and Lockheed Martin ( LMT ) have been delayed due to supply chain issues.

Lockheed Martin ( LMT ) told MT Newswires it remains committed to providing Taiwan with advanced F-16 fighter jets to strengthen its air defenses.

The company is supplying 66 new Block 70 aircraft and noted that Taiwan's F-16 Viper upgrade program was completed in December 2023. "We continue to work closely with the U.S. government to accelerate delivery timelines where possible, while ensuring a safe and compliant product."

Taiwan's Defense Minister Wellington Koo said in a media interview Monday that Taiwan currently has 25 major US arms procurement projects, with three facing delays.

The three delayed programs are Lockheed Martin's ( LMT ) F-16V Block 70 fighter jets, and MK-48 heavy torpedoes, and RTX's AGM-154C glide bombs. These delays are mainly due to production line adjustments, supply-chain issues, and system integration challenges. Deliveries have been pushed to 2026 to 2028 and will occur in batches, he added.

"The Ministry of National Defense has accelerated its oversight of contract fulfillment, and the US has established a dedicated project office to jointly handle the matter. Both sides are committed to completing delivery as soon as possible," he said.

RTX didn't immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
