Lyft, Alphabet's Waymo to Launch Autonomous Ride-Hailing Service in Nashville in 2026; Lyft Shares Rise

09:38 AM EDT, 09/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Lyft ( LYFT ) and Alphabet's (GOOGL) Waymo said Wednesday they have signed a partnership to roll out an autonomous ride-hailing service in Nashville in 2026.

The companies said they will use Lyft's ( LYFT ) Flexdrive system, which provides fleet management, including vehicle maintenance, infrastructure, and depot operations, to support Waymo's autonomous vehicle fleet in Nashville.

The autonomous vehicles can be hailed initially through the Waymo app, with plans to integrate the fleet into Lyft's ( LYFT ) network later in 2026, they said.

As part of the partnership, Lyft ( LYFT ) will construct a purpose-built autonomous vehicle fleet management facility with charging and vehicle service capabilities, the companies said.

Lyft ( LYFT ) shares were up 11% in recent trading.
