06:32 AM EDT, 07/15/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The Defense Department has blocked the public release of a congressionally mandated annual report on the Lockheed Martin ( LMT ) -made F-35 fighter jet program for the first time in more than 20 years, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing a Government Accountability Office official.

The report said the Defense Department determined its annual assessment of the F-35 program contained "Controlled Unclassified Information," which means the report can not be released publicly.

The Defense Department and Lockheed Martin ( LMT ) did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
