02:05 PM EDT, 09/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Delta Air Lines ( DAL ) Chief Executive Ed Bastian said customer confidence has bounced back after earlier concerns over tariffs and economic uncertainty caused a slowdown, especially in the spring, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing his comments at the Economic Club of Washington.
"There was definitely a pause in the spring," Bastian said, adding that once things started to stabilize this summer, many customers returned. However, he added that lower-end customers are still facing financial pressures, according to the report.
Bastian said Delta is continuing to focus on premium services and sees international travel as an "opportunity to expand," with the company planning a new route to Morocco.
Delta Air Lines ( DAL ) didn't immediately reply to MT Newswires' request to comment.
