03:07 PM EDT, 07/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- HSBC ( HSBC ) has restarted the search for its next chairman after struggling to find enough suitable candidates from a pool of over 100 names, the Financial Times reported Monday, citing sources familiar with the matter.
Some potential candidates were unavailable, while others had refused when approached by the bank, the sources told the Financial Times.
Among the candidates considered were Zurich Insurance Group CEO Mario Greco, Goldman Sachs (GS) executives Kevin Sneader and Richard Gnodde, and Bruce Carnegie-Brown, former chair of Lloyd's of London insurance market, according to the report.
HSBC ( HSBC ) did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
