Market Chatter: Jefferies Financial Group Looking to Enter India's Asset Management Sector

10:18 AM EDT, 10/06/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Jefferies Financial Group ( JEF ) is planning to enter India's asset management sector, Bloomberg News reported Monday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

Sources told Bloomberg that the company has hired Milind Barve as an advisor to help with strategy and the regulatory process.

Barve is a former chief executive of HDFC Asset Management, Bloomberg said.

Jefferies Financial Group ( JEF ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
