10:02 AM EDT, 08/06/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms ( META ) apologized for mistakenly removing posts from Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim that honored a top Hamas leader, who was killed last month, Bloomberg reported Tuesday.
"We apologize for an operational error where content from the Prime Minister's Facebook and Instagram Pages were removed, and the content has since been restored with the correct newsworthy label," a Meta spokesperson was quoted as saying in a statement to Bloomberg.
A live stream of a rally Anwar attended was also briefly interrupted on Sunday due to an intellectual property complaint, the report said.
Meta did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
