11:54 AM EDT, 08/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms ( META ) scrapped plans for a high-end mixed-reality headset aimed at rivaling Apple's ( AAPL ) Vision Pro, The Information reported Friday, citing two Meta employees.

This decision was communicated to employees in the Reality Labs division, instructing them to halt development on the device following a product review meeting with Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg, Chief technology Officer Andrew Bosworth and other executives, the report said.

Meta didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
