Market Chatter: T-Mobile US Engineers Said to Detect Suspicious Behavior on Network Devices
Nov 27, 2024 7:37 AM

10:04 AM EST, 11/27/2024 (MT Newswires) -- T-Mobile US ( TMUS ) engineers detected suspicious behavior on network devices when they noticed unauthorized users running commands on the devices in an attempt to probe the network's structure, Bloomberg reported Wednesday.

T-Mobile Chief Security Officer Jeff Simon told Bloomberg that although the breach was not "inherently malicious," he said the unusual activity caught their engineer's attention.

After the engineers found the suspicious activity they booted the unauthorized users from the network before the users were able to access customer data or dive deeper into the network, the report said.
