12:20 PM EDT, 03/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- The US government will be "open-minded" regarding amending a contentious plan to hike capital requirements for major banks that are important to make sure the lenders can withstand turbulence, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing Michael Hsu, the acting Comptroller of the Currency.
US regulators are carefully contemplating a number of comments critical of the so-called "Basel III endgame" proposal, Hsu was quoted as saying.
The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency did not immediately respond to a request for comment by MT Newswires.
