07:21 AM EDT, 08/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- NASA will decide no earlier than Saturday whether Boeing's ( BA ) Starliner spacecraft will return with astronauts aboard from the International Space Station.
In a statement Thursday, NASA said the decision would be made following the conclusion of the agency-level review chaired by Ken Bowersox, the associate administrator of NASA's Space Operations Mission Directorate.
NASA and Boeing ( BA ) are finalizing and presenting flight rationale to various teams and the program control board, the agency said, adding that NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, who have been aboard the ISS since June 6, will continue their research, maintenance, and other tasks as part of Expedition 71.
The space agency plans to hold a televised news conference after the review to discuss the decision and next steps.
