07:38 PM EDT, 05/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- James Dyett, OpenAI's head of sales, said he is leaving the company after three years, according to a LinkedIn post on Monday.

"Today, I'm closing my chapter at OpenAI after three very meaningful years," Dyett wrote, adding he leaves with "deep gratitude for the opportunity to help scale the GTM organization."

Dyett, who has been in the role since 2023, said the company is "in a strong place-with GPT-5.5, Codex, and Denise Holland Dresser's inspired leadership," as he steps down.

Dyett said he will join Thrive Capital as an operator in residence following his departure.
