02:09 PM EDT, 03/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Two Boeing ( BA ) 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft have been leased by Poland's national airline LOT, according to Polish Minister Dariusz Klimczak's post on social media platform X Thursday.

The aircraft will be received in 2026, and are currently used by another airline, Polish Press Agency reported, citing LOT's CEO Michal Fijol.

The new aircraft will support LOT in expanding its operations, addressing the current global shortage of large passenger planes, the minister said in his social media post.

An announcement regarding a tender for 84 regional aircraft is expected in the coming weeks, Fijol reportedly said.

Boeing ( BA ) did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
