08:28 AM EDT, 10/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Seabridge Gold ( SA ) reported Friday that Tudor Gold ( TDRRF ) filed a legal challenge against tunnel authorizations for the company's KSM project in British Columbia.
Seabridge said Tudor filed a notice of civil claim in the Supreme Court of British Columbia, challenging an order for Tudor not to "obstruct, endanger or interfere with, the construction, operation or maintenance" of the KSM project's Mitchell Treaty Tunnels (MTT).
Tudor is arguing that the province allegedly misrepresented its rights as mineral claims holder, that
the move amounts to expropriation, and that the province does not have the authority to grant Seabridge rights to use areas within the project claims.
Despite the legal action, Seabridge said it will continue advancing its plans for the project.
"This latest action is one of a number of legal challenges Tudor has made over the years opposing our MTT rights," Seabridge's chair and chief executive officer Rudi Fronk said. "In every instance, the BC government has reconfirmed our approvals and our understanding of the legal aspects of these matters."
"We are confident that the province has acted within the law and that the various authorizations for the MTT are appropriate and reliable," Fronk added.
